Be part of the long-term future of St Cecilia Orchestra

Under the leadership and guidance of renowned conductor and educator, Xenophon Kelsey MBE, We are justifiably proud of our orchestra:

  • St Cecilia Orchestra has grown in both size and reputation
  • It has become one of the best regarded non-professional orchestras in the North of England
  • It is known for its exciting and ambitious programming
  • It often works with international soloists
  • St Cecilia attracts some of the best players from the region
  • It is a real and tangible asset for Ripon, unique for a town of this size

It is however an expensive business to put on concerts of such high quality. Whilst the primary source of income is from ticket sales, this is not sufficient to cover all our operating costs - such as the hire of rehearsal and concert venues, soloist fees, musicians’ expenses, hire of music and more.
